Graduation Procedures
- Meet graduation criteria and complete the English Language Qualification.
- Consultation on employment counseling
- Go to JOB CAFE and have a career counseling session or job guidance consultation with a counselor.
- After completing the consultation, get your counselor's signature on the confirmation of the Dept. of English Language and Literature employment counseling sheet.
- Submit the confirmation of the job counseling form to the department office. (Only students who have submitted the confirmation of job counseling form are eligible for thesis supervision.)
- Thesis
- Fill out the Thesis Advising Application.
- Visit the thesis advisor with the completed application form for a consultation. (You must make a prior appointment with the professor.)
- After completing the consultation, apply for thesis guidance signed by the professor at the department office. (Original copy for the department/copy for the student)
- Submit the completed thesis.
- If the thesis evaluation result is D or higher, you will be accepted for graduation.
- Graduation qualification
- Those who have completed the curriculum, successfully passed the thesis, and obtained the English language qualification.
Credits required for graduation
- Students admitted before 2007: 140 credits or more
- Students admitted in 2008 or later: 135 credits or more

Graduation credits for liberal arts courses (liberal arts required, liberal arts optional, basic sciences)
- Students admitted before 2007: Minimum of 25 credits or more
- Students admitted in 2008 or later: Minimum of 25 credits and a maximum of 55 credits
- Students admitted in 2012 or later: Minimum of 30 credits and a maximum of 55 credits
Graduation credits for Liberal Arts requirements (Basic Liberal Arts, INU Core Liberal Arts)
- Students admitted before 2015: At least 8 credits of liberal arts requirements (1 Korean subject and at least 6 credits of English)
- Students admitted in 2016 or later (Students transferring in 2016 or later)
: Basic Liberal Arts 8 credits - 4 credits of University English 1,2, 2 credits of University English Conversation 1,2, 2 credits of Writing Theory and Practice
: Select and complete at least 1 subject from 2 out of 3 INU Core Liberal Arts areas.
For students from 2008, please check the prohibited courses by department (not eligible for graduation credit).
: For the Dept. of English and English Literature - English Speaking, Advanced English Speaking, English in Current Affairs
Graduation Credits for Major Subjects (Major Basics, Major Requirements, Major Optionals)
- Students admitted before 2009: 51 credits or more
- Students admitted in 2016 or later: 60 credits or more
- Students doing a double major must complete at least 42 credits in each of the two majors.
(except for those approved before 2004, who must complete at least 36 credits each)
Early Graduation
- Eligibility: Students with an overall GPA of 4.0 or higher through the 2nd semester of the 2nd year (4 semesters)
- Application period: Within the prescribed period before the start of the 1st semester of the 3rd year (5th semester)
- How to apply: Fill out the early graduation application form and submit it to the department > Education Support Team
- Graduation requirements: If you meet the graduation requirements in the 6th or 7th semester and have a GPA of 4.0 or higher, you will be granted early graduation.
