Introcuction
The role of the bio-industry is being emphasized to address various problems facing society, such as global pandemics, super-aging, incurable diseases, and environmental issues. As a next-generation national growth engine, the bio-industry is contributing to the creation of a healthy future by developing advanced materials and technologies, including biopharmaceuticals, to proactively respond to these challenges. The College of Life Sciences and Technology is striving to play a pivotal role in the national bio-industry and cultivate key talents by establishing a bio-specialized education and research system. Established in 2012 to leverage the geographical advantage of Songdo International City as a bio-industry hub where advanced bio-complexes are concentrated, the College of Life Sciences and Technology operates with two schools—the School of Life Sciences (majors in Life Sciences and Molecular Biomedical Sciences) and the School of Biotechnology (majors in Biotechnology and Nanobioengineering)—and four major fields.
