Research Materials from Professor Uk-jae Yang’s Research Team

A study led by Professor Uk-jae Yang from the Department of Urban Administration at Incheon National University, with undergraduate student Byung-wook Kang as a co-author, has been published in Transport Policy, a leading international journal in the field of transportation.

The study examines how changes in speed limits introduced nationwide in 2021 affected urban conditions.

The results show that the measure contributed to improved road safety by reducing risks associated with traffic accidents.

At the same time, the study found that frequent changes in driving speed, such as repeated acceleration and deceleration, may have limited overall improvements in urban environmental conditions.
