2026 Korean Language Institute Summer Vacation Short-Term Training Program

The Korean Language Institute under the Office of International Affairs at Incheon National University (INU), led by President Injae Lee, operated the “2026 Korean Language Institute Summer Vacation Short-Term Training Program” for 16 students and two teachers from Taipei Municipal Song Shan High School of Commerce and Home Economics from August 10 to 21.

The program was the first joint student program conducted after the two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on educational exchange in January. It was also the first short-term Korean language program offered by the INU Korean Language Institute for high school students from abroad.

Participants attended three hours of Korean language classes each morning and took part in various activities in the afternoon. These included an INU campus tour, K-pop dance, samulnori, K-food activities, learning activities related to future study and careers, and off-campus programs.

The program was designed to provide participants with opportunities to experience Korean language, culture, and university life while interacting with fellow students, instructors, and university staff. Through these activities, students were also able to experience living and learning in a new environment.

“This program is meaningful because it was the first joint student program held after the MOU with Taipei Municipal Song Shan High School of Commerce and Home Economics,” said Sookhee Chae, Director of the INU Korean Language Institute. “As this was also the first short-term program offered by the Korean Language Institute for high school students, we prepared a variety of activities so that participants could experience Korean language, education, culture, and university life.”

She added, “Based on this program, we plan to continue educational exchanges with high schools and educational institutions outside Korea and provide opportunities for students to learn more about Korean language and university programs.”

The INU Korean Language Institute plans to continue working with educational institutions outside Korea and develop Korean language, culture, and learning programs for young students.
