Incheon National University Press announced that beginning in 2025 it has introduced a new imprint (publishing sub-name), “Seohaewon (西海源/書海苑),” and has published five new titles under this imprint.
The Incheon National University Press is a university publishing institution operated by the HakSan Library, where the Library Director concurrently serves as the Director of the Press. Through this structure, the Press systematically discovers and publishes the research achievements and scholarly works of faculty members. In particular, starting in 2025, the Press introduced the imprint “Seohaewon (西海源/書海苑)” to allow authors to choose the publisher name according to the nature of their publication and target readership, thereby strengthening the diversity and expandability of its publishing brand.
Accordingly, books are published either under the name “Incheon National University Press” or “Seohaewon,” and three of the five newly released titles were published under the Seohaewon imprint.
The five new titles include: Architecture for the Curious by Professor Tae-wan Kim of the Division of Urban Architecture; AI-Based Global Content Industry Strategy by Professor Young-eun Park of the Division of International Trade; AI Decision-Making: Humans Decide, Machines Analyze by Professor Kyung-won Kim of the Division of International Trade; An Easy Introduction to Corpus English Linguistics by Professor Chae-kwan Jung of the Department of English Language and Literature; and Quantitative Thinking and Decision Science (2nd Edition) by Professor Chang-hee Kim of the College of Business.
Architecture for the Curious by Professor Tae-wan Kim is an introductory book designed for students considering majoring in architecture and prospective practitioners. It systematically explains the structure of the architectural industry, practical work processes, and career planning directions.
AI-Based Global Content Industry Strategy by Professor Young-eun Park examines the rapidly changing content ecosystem—including shifts in the global K-content market, restructuring of the entertainment industry, the expansion of generative AI, the metaverse, digital humans, and content logistics—through extensive data analysis and real business cases, and presents new management strategies required in the AI era.
AI Decision-Making: Humans Decide, Machines Analyze by Professor Kyung-won Kim presents principles and practical applications for deriving rational decisions by combining human intuition with machine-driven analytical capabilities.
An Easy Introduction to Corpus English Linguistics by Professor Chae-kwan Jung introduces methods for analyzing the structure and usage of English based on large-scale linguistic data (corpora), helping readers move beyond rote memorization to understand English scientifically.
Quantitative Thinking and Decision Science (2nd Edition) by Professor Chang-hee Kim, which was selected as a Sejong Book at the time of its first publication and received significant attention, has been revised to enhance its completeness as a textbook by incorporating updated cases and practice problems.
