Incheon National University announced that Professor Bae Yang-seop of the Department of Bioengineering will receive the "19th Northeast Asian Biological Conservation Award."
The 19th Northeast Asian Biological Conservation Awards" was awarded to those who contributed to the search and preservation of biodiversity in Korea, and Professor Bae Yang-seop of the Department of Bioengineering of Incheon National University was selected. He has devoted himself to researching insects in Korea for more than 40 years, discovering 47 new species on the Korean Peninsula and 246 unrecorded species."
It was honored for its great contribution to the exploration of biodiversity in Korea and the conservation of endangered insects by dedicating itself to insect classification and system research, and for its great achievements in biodiversity research and conservation.
The award ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2024 at the Parktel Athens Hall in Seoul. The award ceremony will be attended by selection committee members and past winners, as well as more than 60 officials from biological taxonomists, the Korean Teachers and Botanical Research Association, the Korea Rediscovered Plant Exploration Team, the Korean Plant Parataxonomist Association, and the Center for Biological Diversity Education.
